Kim Thomson

Kim draws predominantly on principles of Slow Design. She strives to create works that are indicative of particular narratives that generate communication about sustainability and connection with nature in her local and global community.
Kim 'upcycles' aluminium saucepan lids, cake tins and canisters that have scratches, are damaged or for some reason have been abandoned and are destined to the scrap heap. She lovingly turns them into jewellery and objects using ethical manufacturing techniques that reflect her connection to the natural landscape of the Aldinga scrub.
