Bunyip Bushfire I
Blown and sandblasted glass 28cm H x 15cm W x 15cm D
Jessica’s work captures the sublime and destructive beauty of nature, from the intricate veins of a leaf to the drama and fury of a bushfire translated onto the surface of glass via engraving and sandblasting. Predominantly vessel work, Jessica’s art is both functional and sculptural ranging from vibrant and dramatic, to subdued, reflecting the different forces and aspects of nature.
Jessica is currently completing a Master of Design (Contemporary Art) at the University of South Australia (UniSA). She was awarded Highly Commended in this year’s Wagga Wagga National Emerging Glass Art Prize and winner of the Vicki Torr Emerging Artist Prize in 2019. Her work is currently displayed at The Museums of the Sforza Castle of Milan, Italy as part of the MilanoVetro -35 prize and has featured in exhibitions across Australia.
